Overview

Ink is ARK's block-based documents workspace. Text, tables, code, embeds, and real-time collaboration — running on your Supabase, with markdown in and markdown out.

What Ink does

Ink is an editor-first wiki. If you've used Notion, you'll feel at home within seconds.

  • Block editor — slash commands, drag-and-drop, every block typed and structured.
  • Spaces — separate areas per team with independent permissions, templates, and index pages.
  • Real-time collaboration — live cursors, presence, @-mentions, inline comments.
  • Tags — freeform labels that cut across spaces for easy discovery.
  • Conversations & threads — per-page discussions that don't clutter the main content.
  • Sharing — internal, external (signed links), or fully public with a custom domain.

How Ink fits with other ARK products

  • Track — attach docs to contacts, companies, and deals. Meeting notes, account plans, QBRs live next to the record.
  • Comms — every link to an Ink doc unfurls with rich preview; Tasks View inside Ink syncs with Comms tasks.
  • Pulse — embed a live standup digest block on any Ink page.
  • Hive (coming) — surface the most-active pages in the leadership view.

Feature highlights

Block editor. Every unit of content is a block — paragraph, heading, list item, callout, code block, toggle, image, embed. Blocks are draggable; slash commands insert them inline.

Spaces. Top-level containers. One space per team is typical ("Engineering", "Design", "Ops"). Each has its own permissions, member roster, templates, and index page.

Real-time. Open the same page in two tabs and watch changes propagate instantly. Avatars render alongside the cursors of every co-editor.

Versioning. Every page has a full history of revisions. Restore any prior state. Diff any two revisions.

Import/export. Markdown round-trips cleanly. HTML export for sharing with people outside your workspace. Notion import available as a paid add-on for migrating from existing workspaces.

Publishing. Any page or space can be published as a public site under your own custom subdomain. Pair with the ARK docs template for a full documentation site.
